This we know, all things are connected, like the blood which unites one family.
All things are connected. Whatever befalls the earth, befalls the sons of earth.
Man did not weave the web of life, he is merely a strand in it.
Whatever he does to the web, he does to himself.
- Chief Seattle, Dwamish Tribe, First (Native) American.
The world is changing rapidly into one where Western nations will no longer have an economic
advantage or even technological superiority over the rest of the world. International travelers can
rarely go anywhere in the non-western world where Asian Indians are not providing both techno
services and are professors in higher education teaching young people in non-Western nations
skills to take their nations forward. Soon the Gulf, South and Central America and the African
nations will begin to catch up with Indian high-tech businesses and will assume a more prominent
role in both communications advancement and the world economy.
Every country must utilize all available human resources to position themselves into viable
economic markets in the world community.
As the world is currently focused on the Middle East, we are correlating these issues by examples
found in those countries.
Minorities are precious resources in the Levant as in all other parts of the world.
Minorities hold knowledge of Middle Eastern history in their libraries, as well as in their customs,
rituals and family heirlooms (including diaries, letters and scrolls passed on from deceased
ancestors). This knowledge can shed light on many historical, archeological and anthropological
questions unanswered by scholars of Judaism, Christianity and Islam.
This message is as applicable to those in the government in the Holy Land as it is to all other
countries. It is neither intelligent nor just to discriminate against citizens due to their religion or
culture, to evacuate minority citizens from their villages or steal their land.
We wish all people to consider the 3,000 year old Sephardic Jewish community in Iran. A valued
society, which participates actively in the political system, a respected and intrinsic part of the
society. The Sephardim in Iran offer a rare insight into early Persian and Jewish religious history.
They are irreplaceable, as are the Christian and Muslim Palestinians in the Holy Land.
Historians often ignore the fine web of threads connecting religious communities but they
encompass many secrets into humanity’s past. Destruction of religious sites or people of minority
religions or sects or their villages are a destruction of everyone’s history. Our world sustains a
spiritual ecology tying together the members of each religious and spiritual tradition. To destroy any
one of them, will unravel the entire tapestry of historical knowledge.
